We have prepared this list of frequently asked questions to answer any questions you may have about our wedding planning, styling, flowers and props services. If there’s anything you’d like to ask which isn’t noted here or explained on the website, please get in touch and we’ll be delighted to answer any questions.

I’m looking into props and flower ideas. How do I go about starting the process of working with Get Knotted for props and flower ideas?

We’ll start putting together our thoughts, interpretations, ideas and prices and send you a detailed quotation.

Can we meet to discuss ideas?

Yes, absolutely. Our showroom is five minutes from Kelso, and there’s nothing we like more than spending time with our clients, looking at and discussing ideas.

How much will it cost?

This all depends on how many props and flowers you require. Although we can give very general prices for standard items, if you are planning to create something unique, then we will put together a bespoke quotation for you. The details are all itemised in our quotation. If you hire props, flowers and lighting, economies of scale can apply, meaning that you get the best possible price.

How much deposit do we pay?

We will require a 10% deposit to secure the date. Final payment becomes due a week before your big day.

What are your delivery charges?

We currently charge 50p per mile. We’ll itemise our delivery charges exactly on the quotation.

Are you VAT registered?

Yes. The prices for hire on the website do not include VAT, we will breakdown all charges for you.

How far do you travel?

We are very happy to travel anywhere in the UK. We also use a courier service for smaller prop hire orders. We are based near Kelso in the Scottish Borders.

Can we collect props from your showroom ourselves?

Yes. This is called a ‘dry hire’.

If I have ordered flowers and props, will you be there on the day?

Yes, if we have designed your wedding flowers oryou have ordered props from us as a package, then we guarantee that we will be there on the day to set everything up.

We want large floral displays in church but would like them moved to the reception afterwards. Can you help?

Yes. This service offers peace of mind, and is one less thing to arrange with friends or family. Charges would apply for time and additional mileage.

How much do flowers cost?

Your wedding flowers can be tailored to suit your budget. The cost is reflected in the type of flowers and complexity of the design. A full quote will be supplied after an initial meeting. However, approximate costings are given below.

We are thinking of getting married in September. Would my flower costs be any different if it is in May?

Flower costs do vary at certain times of the year. For example prices increase around Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day. Flowers are generally at their most abundant and reasonably priced in the summer months. We recommend that seasonal flowers are always used for quality and price.

I love the David Austin and Garden Roses. I've heard they are costly. Is this correct?

Yes. You pay more for these types of roses. Hydrangeas and Lily of the Valley, Gardenias and Stephanotis are also expensive.

We only want bouquets and buttonholes and no props. Is this possible?

Yes, absolutely. Each order - whether it is small or large, just flowers, just props or a combination - is very important to us, and will receive the same amount of care and attention.

If you are not familiar with our chosen venue, will you be able to visit?

Yes. We are happy to visit.

Can we take our flowers home after the wedding?

Yes, absolutely. We want you to get as much enjoyment as possible from your flowers. Please note that any props that have been hired remain the property of Get Knotted.

How does the planning service work?

We are the in-house planner for a number of venues in the Scottish Borders. We work closely ith cients by email, phone and Skype during the months before the wedding, to answer all your questions. We will connect you to relevant suppliers if required, and together we produce a detailed timeline of your wedding day/weekend. This is then circulated to your key suppliers.

Can we meet prior to the wedding?

Yes, we hope we will meet you several times prior to your wedding.

Will you be there on the day?

If you have booked a venue where Get Knotted organises the weddings, then we guarantee that someone from the Get Knotted team will be there to ensure all runs smoothly on the day.

Does the bride walk on the left or the right of her father when entering the ceremony?

She walks on the right of her father, so that he hands her across to the groom. Traditionally the bride’s family sit on the left and groom’s family the right.

How many people can sit at a 5' round table?

8 comfortably.

How many people can sit at a 6' round table?

10 comfortably.

How many people can sit at a 6' trestle table?

3 on each side.

Who sits at a top table?

The traditional seating plan for the top table (facing the table from left to right) is as follows:

Chief bridesmaid, father of the groom, mother of the bride, groom, bride, father of the bride, mother of the groom, best man.
